baseball senior Dan Snyder is to be congratulated more than once ! Upon his graduation in May,
he will begin a career in the field
of safety sciences as he
recently accepted a job working for the Chevron
Corporation.
Snyder’s position will be based out of Houston, Texas, working within Chevron’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Team. The business team for which he will be involved is the deep water exploration and production team, which focuses on oil drilling and production in the Gulf of Mexico.
More importantly, Snyder recently was engaged to Nicole Buczak, who will also finish her degree in May with a degree in safety sciences at IUP. Both will be moving to the Houston area, where Nicole will be working for the Lyondell Chemical Company. Their wedding is planned for the spring of 2009.
Snyder maintains a 3.56 overall GPA and 4.0 in his safety sciences major and is also an IUP Baseball “WINwithCLASS” academic captain, IUP baseball team captain, and member of the IUP Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

currently is ranked 4th in the top U.S. Fortune 500 Companies, 2nd
in the petroleum industry behind Exxon Mobil and 7th in terms of size
and profits as a company worldwide. Chevron is a collaborative enterprise whose
many parts work to deliver energy throughout the world. Areas of business
include Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Production, Manufacturing,
Marketing, Refining and transportation of these various forms of energy.
Chevron is also involved greatly in the Chemical industry by producing additives
for household products and various types of fuels. Power generation, mining,
energy research and nanoscience also play a large roll in Chevron’s business
