"Chase distinguishes himself as the only student to see me in my office to make sure he has not missed anything due to his baseball schedule. Despite the grind of a season in which games come in clumps, he attends every class he can, participates and is interested in the topics we discuss."
- Dr. David LaPorte, IUP Department of Psychology
"As
manager of the New Brighton High School Varsity Baseball team, I had the honor
of coaching Chase in his Junior and Senior years. Chase was a very competitive
person on the field and was able to balance the important factors in life. His
leadership and ability enabled New Brighton to capture it's first Section Title
in 8 years, something that he and his senior teammates desperately wanted to
take with them. Chase had many memorable moments, including two no-hitters in
the same season which should stand as a school record for many years to come.
What is most memorable about Chase is his respect, discipline and love for his
Lord and family which will all be great attributes during his life. He is always
willing to smile, even during tough times, and his willingness to accept people
for who they are and to serve people during their need makes him the best person
I have ever coached at any level. IUP is
fortunate to have Chase McNutt."
