Winners
Winners are not always champions
And champions are not always winners.
Being a winner is a way of life.
Whether it is on the athletic field, in the classroom,
In the dorm, or out with your peers,
A winner strives to be the best person possible.
Winners display their talents in a way that enables
The team to shine and themselves to be a part of the light.
When confronted with a challenge,
The winner stands up and moves forward
No matter how difficult
The progress may be.
The winner is never satisfied with losing.
He knows that if he continues to prepare
To the best of his ability,
And continues to put forth his best effort
On game day,
The wins will surmount the losses.
A winner is continually climbing the mountain
Of success
To gain experience and knowledge
That will enable him to set a better foundation
To take the next step toward the top
Knowing that when he as reached the top,
Another mountain is waiting to be conquered.
But -- that is OK.
A winner performs at his best when standing at the bottom
Of the highest mountains.
