Getting To Know ... Travis Kreiling

Q: What baseball memory
stands out the most for you?
A: Quad A state semis in high school and colliding with my left fielder
going for a blooper hit and hyper extending my knee as well as knocking him out
unconscious. We went on to lose the game 7-6 and that team then won state.
Q: What is the best part
of being a college athlete?
A: Being recognized as a college athlete and you immediately have something
in common with a group of kids once you arrive here at IUP.
Q: What is the best advice
you have ever received from a coach?
A: WINwithCLASS.
Q: Who is your most
influential role model?
A: Dad.
Q: What celebrity would
you most like to meet?
A: Jessica Alba because she is smoking. Plus if I met her I could quit
school because she would probably want to marry me and my life would be set.
Q: Do you have a favorite
type of music you listen to?
A: Rock/ Rap.
Q: What is your favorite
movie?
A: Superbad, Dumb and Dumber, Mighty Ducks.
Q: What is your favorite
sports movie?
A: Varsity Blues.
Q: Do you have a favorite
food or meal?
A: Philly Cheese Steaks and Pork Roll.
Q: What is your favorite
holiday?
A: Christmas.
Q: What is your favorite
professional baseball team?
A: Philadelphia Phillies.
Q: Who is your favorite
professional baseball player?
A: Jimmy Rollins because is just plain nasty offensively and defensively.
Q: What is the place that
you haven't traveled to, that you would most like to visit?
A: California, I have been to Las Vegas and that is probably the best place
ever. But California would be such a neat place to go, my mom travels there
for work all the time and she said its just so much different out there.
Q: What would be your
dream job?
A: Working in the Philadelphia Sports Organization in any way.
Q: What is it that
attracted you to IUP?
A: The bigger size compared to other Division II schools in the state.
Q: What do you like most
about the city of Indiana?
A: Other side of the State. It's pretty cool to see how much different it
is in the Philly area than the Pittsburgh area.
Q: What baseball team in
the PSAC would you most like to beat?
A: California, no doubt about it.
Q: What is your favorite
thing about the sport of baseball?
A: You make it how competitive you want it to be. Your enthusiasm can
easily change teammates.
Q: What is your earliest
baseball memory?
A: Beating a team in eight years olds 45-0.
Q: If you could play any
other sport in college, what would it be?
A: If I were a good at it, golf. It is just relaxing.
Q: What are some of your
favorite things to do in your spare time when you are not playing baseball?
A: Music, love listening to music, Lifting, playing football, going to the
beach is must
Q: What was your favorite
TV show growing up?
A: Boy Meets World, great show.
Q: What is your favorite
TV show now? Do you have a favorite character on that show?
A: Prison Break and Entourage no question. I don't think I watch to many
other shows besides sports, But on prison break Michael Schofield is just
straight up genius, smartest man ever.
Q: What are your career
goals
A: Hopefully work in with the US Marshals.
Q: What does it take to be
academically successful at IUP?
A: Go to class, there is nothing else to say.
Q: What does it take to be
athletically successful at IUP?
A: Stay in shape and take criticism to improve yourself, whether its from a
player, coach, or peer. Never get down on yourself.
