Essentials of an Effective Team and Coaching Staff

1.                  Loyalty.  Those involved in the program must support and respect each other.  An inner circle of confidants who can be trusted and have the program as first priority.

2.                  Knowledge/Skill Level of the Game.  A solid base of knowledge/skill level and competence of each skill in practice and games.

3.                  People Skills and Communicator.  Great listening and communication skills to handle all situations involved with a program.

4.                  Hard Worker.  Willing to put in the hard work necessary to build and maintain.  A committed and dedicated group to lead a successful program and be accountable for areas of responsibility.

5.                  Enthusiastic Positive Attitude.  Bring a passion, excitement, energy, and enthusiasm to the program.

6.                  Organized and Dependable.  Well-organized and reliable with information and things to be done.

7.                  Initiative.  Take the initiative to do what needs to be done instead of waiting for others to ask.  Think a step ahead and take care of things today.

8.                  Honesty.  Be willing to tell the truth at all times.

9.                  Ethical and Professional.  Act with integrity and be focused on doing the right things in the right way.  Each represents the program and themselves in a professional manner.

10.              Willingness to Learn.  Be inquisitive and have a desire to learn.  Look for an opportunity to learn and make the program more successful.

11.              Compatible Philosophy.  The overall philosophies and core principles must be followed and supported by each member.

12.              WINwithCLASS.  Each represents the goals academically, socially, and athletically.
